June  2008
Singing Horatio wins dressage competition at the Arab and Trakehner show with a very high score of 75.6 %. A VERY BIG congratulation to his owner Keatinge stud and to Sam Smith his rider, as Horatio looked absolutely amazing.

June  2008
Singing Hernando is a super star when being places 7th in his very first dressage competition. Steff (his owner and rider) said “we did really well in the warm up and I thought yeah we are going to take this one, but then Hernando suffered from stage fright and we got placed 7th”, which “we think” is really fantastic for their first ever time away from home. The following weekend Steff and Hernando came 6th so it looks like the pair are moving up and up each time out. A big congratulation and good luck in the future.

April  2008
Singing Halando does a wonderful job when in his first event class comes 6th out of 24 horses. Well done and we look forward to see how he gets on next time out.

April  2008
Singing Horatio comes 19th in his first event class out of 30 horses. What a fantastic day out for Keatinge stud and Horatio’s rider Sam Smith

March  2008
Our first foal of the year is born. It is a wonderful strong black colt by Chabrol out of our wonderful mare Charisma. Csiko has very long legs and three fantastic gaits.

February  2008
Singing Horatio attend the stallion show and we are told he was the star from all the stallions attending. We look forward to updating everyone on his progress now he is ready to start his competition.

February  2008
The Singing Stud wins on appeal to keep all buildings at their yard in Much Marcle, where the main horses are kept. They have also won the right to finally build a staff house so they can get live in horse people to work at the stud and keep a 24 hour eye on everything. It has been a VERY long and hard fight, which has been quite unjustified due to a neighbour which thinks that only he and his wife are the only ones with the right to improve their business and life. We are glad that the appeal person could look through all the lies and harassment these people has caused us for so very long.

December  2007
Singing Halando goes clear in his first show jumping competition, a BIG congratulation to Caroline on Halando doing so well on his first ever outing.

November  2007
Chloe qualifies for the winter Championship on Singing Heaster in just two outings. A big congratulation to them both, we wish them all the best at the Championship.

June  2007
The Singing Stud gets turned down for planning permission to keep their foal barn, foaling boxes and staff house. It seem to have been decided already before the committee entered the room and it will now have to go to appeal.

Chloe has qualified for the Regional's at nfu preliminary qualifier with 66,8 % and 67,5 % with Singing Heaster. This is Chloe and Heaster's (out of Henny by Solero) first year out competing and they have only had 6 outings so a very BIG congratulation to Chloe and Heaster for doing so well in their first year out competing. Chloe was send to us four years ago by Carl Hester to find herself a "proper" dressage horse and came to see Heaster (then 2 years old). She fell in love with him as soon as she saw him move and Heaster is the first "Singing Trakehner" out competing at the moment and we are so proud that he has done so well. Since buying Heaster, Chloe has become addicted to Trakehners and have now in her stables three other up and coming wonders in the 3 year old colt Singing Upton Boy (out of Umbria by Arentino) and the  2 yearling fillies Singing Ultrafinesse (out of Ultravioletta by Arentino) and Singing Hermione (a 1/2 sister to Singing Heaster out of Henny by Arentino), we look forward to seeing them all out in the dressage arena some day.

April  2007
Chabrols first foals are on the ground and we are pleased with them.... The have fantastic conformation with outstanding movement. These foals are very sporty looking and Luana's foal will be a spitting image of his wonderful father. We are keeping all four colts as they are so good and hope to bring them up for grading one day.

November  2006

Arentino's semen enters the yearly Trakehner auction in USA and sells for the highest bid to a very respected Trakehner stud. We really look forward to news on the foal in 2008.

October 2006

In German at the grading and auction in Neumunster the Champion 2 year old stallion Songline made 320.000 Euro. Songline is out of a fullsister to our wonderful filly Schwalbenfreude II mum Schwalbenflair and we really look forward to when Schwalbenfreude enters our herd to become a broodmare.

INGRID CHRISTODOULOU

It is with great sadness that we have to report the sudden death of Ingrid Christodoulou, founder and owner of Highfield Trakehners. This will come as a great shock to all her many friends throughout the world, and in the Trakehner world in particular.

We used to joke that Ingrid was the only true Trakehner amongst us; she was on the famous ‘Trek’ as a little girl, and her knowledge of the horses is well known. Her ambition was to have one of her wonderful Trakehner stallions jumping for GB in the Olympics – and she was well on her way to achieve that with many show jumping successes. Ingrid was a lady in the true sense of the word; generous in her advice and friendship, and unceasing in her support for her beloved Trakehner horses.

A full Obituary will be placed in the Trakehners UK newsletter in due course, and copied to this website. In the meanwhile, our sympathies are offered to all her family and to her friends world wide.

September 2006

Singing Horatio, the first English bred colt to grade in 7 years. We have never had or taken a colt up for grading before and is absolutely delighted that our wonderful black colt out of Arentino's first English crop of foal grades with the English Trakehner society. Since being a foal he always stood out and has wonderful BIG powerful ground covering movements, so we always hoped he may be a candidate to grade as a stallion. He has been with Bernadette and Tim from Woodcroft Stud since May this year and they have really done a FANTASTIK job preparing him for us. A very very BIG thank you to both Bernadette and Tim for putting so much hard work into him and make him look as much stallion as he did over the weekend.

We only had one mare Singing Elischa by Mackensen out of our mare St.Pr.u Pr.St Elistra up for grading and she pleased us by being awarded a premium. This mare has some very rare and wonderful bloodlines and we can't wait for her to join our herd. Our beautiful mare Pr.St Aida by E.H Sixtus was Champion mare and Overall Reserve Champion of the show, so a very good end to a wonderful year.

August 2006

A big congratulation to the Danish rider Andreas Heldstrand and his Danish bred 9 year old grey mare Blue Hors Martine on winning silver in the freestyle dressage competition at Aachen on the 25/26 of August. For you who don't know this, Blue Hors Martine is by the Trakehner stallion Silvermoon a beautiful grey son of the black impressive Trakehner stallion Kostolany.

The Singing Stud get planning permission to build at Hillington Barn. Up to now the stud has only had the yard 3 miles away and have had to rent winter barns away from the yard, which has not been ideal. After a long fight we finally get the permission to put up a hay barn, a winter barn for young stock and an American barn to hold 10 stables together with an outdoor school. This will now enable us to bring our TB young stock and Trakehner stallion prospects up correctly and in a way that the TB will have a better chance at the sales and the Trakehners hopefully a better chance of grading.

June 2006

Chabrol's sister Chiffon is the proud mother of the outstandig premium mare Chanel by Donaufischer, which came 2nd Reserve Champion of the Rhineland central grading on the 11th of June. This strong moving mare with wonderful classical Trakehner type is another example of the wonderful genes that Chabrol is representing. Chabrols full brother Cinzano came 5th in the Bundes Championship last year in eventing and has now qualified for the German Federal Championship in three day eventing.

Today the 07.06.2006 after a two year battle against our neighbour, which is the chairman of the local council in Much Marcle, we finally won on appeal the right to put down an outdoor school so we can get on and train our horses. This will enable us to get our horses ready for backing and grading and we can also now start to look for a rider for our horses. We are absolutely delighted that not all people have been taken in by our very vindictive and scheming neighbour.

April 2006

Chabrol is home where he will be starting his stud duties and recovering from his performance test. After this we shall put him into work slowly and think about where he will go and what he will do. We hope we shall find a rider for him, which can bring out the potential in this wonderful stallion.

March 2006

Singing Scaramouche by Arentino is emigrating to New Zealand with his family. Charlotte which bought him as a yearling, tells us she could have sold him 3 times for very good money, but she goes on to say, "He is the horse of my dreams and I would be worried I would never find a horse again with so much wonderful movement, beauty and such an easy kind temperament". Scaramouche was backed in January and was hacking out happily on the hills. Now however he is in quarantine awaiting to fly out in the end of March. Ones settled we shall have more updated news regarding Scaramouche and his family in their new home in New Zealand.

February 2006

First foal of the season born at The Singing Stud. It is a big strong beautiful black filly by Arentino out of PM Unica.

January 2006

We have yet again been refused the outdoor school due to our neighbour in Much Marcle. It is getting a worry due to the welfare of our horses and the fact again that we cannot get on and show the horses to buyers and get them trained. We are now going to appeal.

October 2005

We have received news that Holme Park Vincenca's mum Vabanque has been awarded Elite Status by the TBF. A BIG congratulation to Paul and Susan Attew from Holme Park Stud, which has had this mare for so many years now.

August 2005

We have been told the sad news that E.St Arktis II, the Dam of Arentino, has sadly been put to sleep. She was found to be very ill and it was with great sadness that her owner Erhard Schulte ( which also had Arentino from a foal and took him up for his grading) made the decision to end her suffering. It was made even more difficult as E.St Arktis II was in foal again for year 2006. Our hearts and thoughts are with Erhard........... this is a very sad time for us all.

July 2005

Marleen and Edward had a wonderful blessing in Norway and would like to thank all family and friends for their support, presents and cards

March 2005

Marleen and Edward tie the knot after 15 years together. They married at Ross-on-Wye register office on Edwards birthday on the 9th of March surrounded by Edwards family and Marleen's mum. They will be blessed in church in Norway on the 16th of July surrounded by Marleen's family and their friends

Galaxy gives birth to a very big stunning black colt named Galaxy Quest. To have a  look at Quest look him up on latest foal and click onto his photo to get access to his page.

March 2004

Galaxy was rushed into hospital with a twisted uterus and needed an operation, she only had a 50% chance of holding on to her foal, but has managed to do so and we are so pleased and can't wait to see, what she will have this year.

January 2004

The singing stud has had a surprise with Holme Grove Genita having already had her foal 3 1/2 week to early. It is a strong black colt and he is very handsome.
